This is by no means a financial analysis, but does anyone else on this board remember the negative postings about NTE this summer by a supposedly "selfless" poster xkmfx?
Here is a small sample:
< I thought it worth while to re-post my analysis of Nam Tai which comes out as VERY NEGATIVE. I have tried to be objective, however, I would be very pleased to hear from anyone that has a positive business reason to invest in Nam Tai or point out something that I have missed...>
If you were for the unending bashing posts last summer from this source (price was about 4 and change) - and are still here - I'd say you are a hard core deep value investor in the extreme.
Sure, I remember her. She would say nobody has given a business reason for buying the stock. Then one of us would say, $5 cash and pre-recession EPS was $1, for a valuation way north of $10 if EPS recovers to pre-recession levels. Even with zero growth. And then xkmfx would say nobody has given a business reason for buying the stock. It got monotonous.
People just hate cheap stocks. At $15 NTE will get a lot more respect. 3x the price. People will buy at $15, hot diggety dog. And selling at $4.50 was a no-brainer. What a piece of crap. That thinking makes sense to people. But buying at $4.50 and selling at $15 just makes everyone think your timing is wacked out.
