Well this is very discouraging. I am not entirely sure from the press release if they mean that Nam Tai will perhaps make $.34 per share this year if Japan stabilizes, or breakeven, or what. It seems to say both.
Even if the situation in Japan stabilizes •our results may be down by 15% to 20% for Q2 to Q4 2011, as compared with the results for 2011 previously anticipated in management's consideration, and •our results overall for 2011 will be break even.
Yes, but it says: •Our overall financial results for 2011 will not exceed those we reported for 2010
Last year they made 34 cents a share. So, it will not exceed 34 cents a share, but then even IF it stabilizes it will be break even? Those seem contradictory.
Also, it says the results may be down 15 to 20% Q2 to Q4 of 2011 compared to management's expectations, but we don't know what management was expecting.
One thing I'm wondering is how they know what will be happening in Q4 so far in advance. I know Sony is a major customer, and Sony has delayed the NGP in some regions from Christmas to next year, but it seems like quite a long lead time. I would think that repairs in Japan should mostly be made long before then.
