Thoughts on being an "excellent quality supplier"?

Guesses on who their "customer" and "end buyer" are?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • This is another customer confirmation of the type supplier NTE is, a high quality supplier that has had sterling reputation inside the Japanese consumer electronics industry for many years, now they are receiving the same accolades as the best supplier of LCD modules.

This award also confirms which we already knew with last quarter’s results, that NTE was not the bottleneck in the supply chain when the Smartphone supplier (Apple) had supply shortage issues. With this thought in mind, the 4th quarter is still looking very good and I still expect at least 0.83 -0.90 EPS. 3rd quarter was 0.53.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • 83 to 90 cents? That's probably high. I'd say 70 to 75 cents is closer, given the problems with Sharp and that they are still ramping up. Still, annualized, that's $3 a share in earnings. Give them a relatively low p/e of 12, and it's a $36 stock. That's not some hoped for in the future thing, that's where the stock *should* be soon.

      • Hmmm:

I was thinking about this last night...

I think you are right. NTE would NOT be getting the award if they were the supply bottleneck. To get the award you have to be able to produce QUALITY and QUANTITY.

If NTE is ramping up the quantity even further, I think your numbers will be correct. They might even be low.

What will be interesting to see is if in a year from now NTE starts getting other contracts (iPad mini, iPod, Macbooks?, other Apple product we don't know of?). What will also be interesting is if NTE will start materially producing products for companies OTHER than Apple. I suspect they can and will, but just not in the immediate future.

If NTE is making $3.50/share, and they retain $3 of that, that will enable them to grow the business. They could be making $4.50 a share 2 years from now.

        We'll see...

        Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • Not to mention thumbs up from Apple too. And don't think apple doesn't have any influence on to where the new work goes. NTE will be at the top of the list for new contracts. The bottle neck is NTE's ability to add new capacity, and they are working on it.
