Apple sold 2 million iphone 5s in 3 days in China do you think nte

might be getting some of that business or even a lot more from appl. todays activity is someone shorting the hell out of nte because they've seen the share price increase and think nte is some Chinese nasdaq scam company. With a tiny bit a research you can see nte is the real deal with over 1billion in sales to date. In my opinion nte should hit 20 with another earnings report like last quarter. Do your own research but im buying more on this pullback. all in my humble opinion

    • I think there are several factors at play. One is the speculation about Apple eg. supply problems(?),decrease in sales/earnings(?). Apple has taken a hit and NTE may be following in sympathy.
Second, it is getting to year's end and some investors are looking to lock in gains before we go over the fiscal cliff( for some that means a 20% capital gains rate vs. the 15% current rate).

These are the concerns of traders. Long term investors like me(I've been holding since 2006) are more interested in next months earnings report. Mr. Koo was quite optimistic and confident in his statements. His usual perspective is cautious and conservative in giving guidance.

If NTE earnings are in line with Mr. Koo's guidance, then NTE should get to $20 pretty rapidly.

Investors getting now will get a 4.7% dividend as a reward for waiting until the markets recognize the value of this company.

      • I agree with your summary,

NTE is on track to hit record sales and profits this fourth quarter. Last summer, one prominent analyst called for 45 million unit sales for the 4th quarter, last week, he reduced his estimates to 4o million, stating he saw weakness in the supply chain???. Apple has made it clear that they have targeted a production goal of 15 million units per month then increase to 20 million per month, current quarterly target is around 50 million units.

NTE is contracted to make up to 4.0 million displays per month. NTE is one of three suppliers of displays to the I Phone. According to NTE Chairman Koo’s last comments during the conference call, NTE in the 4th quarter will be producing at 84% of the contracted maximum volume of 4.0 million capacity level. This is a far higher level than last quarter as I Phone production was just started and we only had two months of low production for sales. Now we are producing at a very high rate for the 4th quarter.

NTE will not be affected by any reduced volumes at Apple in I Phone retail sales, NTE is just getting started and have been rewarded by their customer for achieving excellent quality performance, this is very important for any consumer electronics supplier. If anything, NTE production could be going higher.

I am sticking with my estimates for the 4th quarter. I do expect an announcement by NTE about some new supply contract that may have been signed, maybe with current customers, or better yet, with a new Smartphone manufacturer.

2013 will be a great year.

        Good luck to all.

        Sentiment: Strong Buy

        Good luck to all.

    • The Chinese are also very humble - be very careful here.
