Don't think this is related to the Citi announcement today

Right now Apple is down 1/2 % and another Apple supplier, Omnvision is up today, versus Nam Tai being down 11%. I believe you have a fund reducing or eliminating a position. There have been som big block trades. Bad news in the short term certainly. But the numbers are going to be so good next year, this is a bump in the road. I'm using the opportunity to buy more shares below $13. By almost any measure, Nam Tai is one of the cheapest stocks out there. Factor in the incredible growth story and this is just nuts. Apple could cut their order in 1/2 and Nam Tai will still makes $2 a share next year.

    • I do not think this is a fund liquidating. They would do this in a stealth manner trying not to drive the price down in order to max out their profits. This looks like a play by a hedge fund or computer trade designed to drive the pps down rapidly. It worked well, probably cost some margin players and took out a lot of stops. This is one of the hazards when you attract large institutions and funds by extreme good performance. Not all institutions invest for the long term. A small cap is an easy target for a large fund to play short term swings at the expense of we little retail shareholders.

      Sentiment: Buy

      • NTE is on track to hit record sales and profits this fourth quarter. Last summer, one prominent analyst called for 45 million unit sales for the 4th quarter, last week, he reduced his estimates to 4o million, stating he saw weakness in the supply chain???. Apple has made it clear that they have targeted a production goal of 18 million units per month or 50 million units per quarter.
NTE is contracted to make up to 4.0 million displays per month. NTE is one of three suppliers of displays to the I Phone. According to NTE Chairman Koo’s last comments during the conference call, NTE in the 4th quarter will be producing at 84% of the contracted maximum volume of 4.0 million capacity level. This is a far higher level than last quarter as I Phone production was just started and we only had two months of low production for sales. Now we are producing at a very high rate for the 4th quarter.
NTE will not be affected by any reduced volumes at Apple in I Phone retail sales, NTE is just getting started and have been rewarded by their customer for achieving excellent quality performance, this is very important for any consumer electronics supplier. If anything, NTE production could be going higher.
I am sticking with my estimates for the 4th quarter. I do expect an announcement by NTE about some new supply contract that may have been signed, maybe with current customers, or better yet, with a new Smartphone manufacturer.
2013 will be a great year,
        Good luck to all.

2013 will be a great year, with or without the fiscal cliff debacle being discussed by the clowns in Washington DC.
      Good luck to all.
