I'm not trying to start a YooHoo vs. Google contest, but it happens to be true that the F.A.Q. lists posts just fine over there, and you can find it by using this link:
As a possible bonus, the g-group discussion links are a lot shorter!
Wear it in good health, and don't spend it all in one place!
If this really does have 274 co-sponsors, I'd have to think the chances of passage are pretty good.
BUT! ( there's always a but ), there are several strongly supported efforts in the House to tack on at least one amendment, to woo votes and/or provide CYA for members with close races in their home districts.
That poses a problem, because then the bill would have to go _back_ to the senate, or to a joint conference committee, to resolve the two different versions.
The potential ping-ponging problem is *really* bad, because several prominent senators had their own pet amendments quashed, and will now resurrect them, in the spirit of tit-for-tat, or the old playground: "They got to do it, so I can too!"
Don't kid yourself, they may look like grownups, but when it comes to playing tit-for-tat games, they are where they are only because they are masters of one-upmanship. Don't you just love politics?
