    • VOD is an ADR, and I think each share traded on the NYSE is equal to 10 shares of VOD England. European stocks don't necessarily pay quarterly dividends and not often is their dividend stable. VOD pays an interim and a final dividend, plus from time to time a special dividend. Those dividends are announced in terms of the pound which also flucuates in terms of the US dollar. It's not surprising that Yahoo doesn't get it right, I'd challange the CFO of VOD to tell you what the effective yield will be in advance of the actual payments.

    • Why depend on Yahoo when you can easily calculate the dividend return yourself. As the rate of dividend return changes with the stock market price daily the numbers are only accurate for the day the numbers are calculated. Do your daily, weekly or monthly homework and perform your own calculations for the time sensitive rate of retun of your stock. Good Luck William L retired

    • no matter how you look at it, yahoo dividend for vod is simply wrong and is understaed by a wide margin and i do not know why they do not correct it. they obviously go through these boards AND SHOULD CORRECT THEIR MISTAKES. OH WELL, PROBABLY TOO MUCH TO ASK.

    • dow: could you help me understand vod yield. i understand VZ is 45% owned by VOD, but so far, VZ has not been paying out dividend to VOD. but, in 2013 VZ will start paying at least a $2 dividend to VOD. VOD will then determine how much it wants to pass through to augment the VOD dividend to shareholders. right? if so, isn't the VZ calculation of yield misleading to VZ shareholders since $2/share will be passed to VOD in the future? i am a bit confused on this, but i am trying to determine if VOD or VZ is a better diversification from my current heavy concentration in T. thanks in advance.
