I do not think so. owning vod is even better than xom which is the other stock i consider as perfect to have and sleep well and get good dividends and growth. vod business is still in infancy and will grow exponentially. may be there is some wishful thinking in there but so be it. it is just so under priced that i still do not understand the reasons for that. give time, it will catch up.
Agree. Little known is the amount of cash VOD would have if Verizon decides to purchase the part owned by VOD (VOD would have about $100 billion cash and 0.00 debt would it not?) Whatever it is VOD should have no problem with its dividend payments. And, as you indicated, VOD has plenty of growth as it ventures further far and wide into less developed nations. Their wireless offerings are perfect technology for this type of expansion.
