    • Is passing gas wrong? I can't help it. If I blame it on the dog, I don't think it willl help the environment.

    • sqzr:

This is the second sign of getting old.

    • gee....why do we need all these "climate change" scientists, and mega computers, and weather stations....we have McMEM and his TI calculator.

Of course, by his "it all ends up in heat" concept, we are doomed no matter what we do...so lets keep the party going.

I wonder where that ice ever came from in the first place, since Mc says the temp should have been rising "1 deg F every 10 years"

    • Yes, could you please stop breathing.

    • 1. "ANY form of energy we use to drive will end up in heat?"
May be too much to explain the 2nd Law of Thermodynamic, but after driving, put your hand on the hood, on the tires etc. Do they become hot? Now, for an Otto Cycle, what is the maximum efficiency?

      2. how your "calculation" of "1 deg F every 10 years" has not come close to occurring.
Latent heat. Takes heat to melt the ice, generate storm etc.

      3. 30000+ scientists are against global warming.
Can't you do better, considering the number of CVX and XOM employees? And of these 30K, how many are knowledgeable, like graduated from high school?

      4. Don't you believe Al Gore? he has a Nobel Prize for it you know.
I believe in hard numbers from calculations. Had you donated $1M to Bush-It during 1st term, you could have gained $1B from the $10/kwh electricity. Had you donated $1B to Bush-It during 2nd term, you could have gained $1T from the $140+/barrel of oil. You didn't donate to Bush-It? Let me guess, you have less than $11M asset, the minimum to be a Republican.

      5. The sun is the primary source of the earth's heat. If there is a greenhouse effect, it traps the sun's heat in the atmosphere and the more efficient the greenhouse becomes the more heat that is trapped.
Please go to Wiki find the solar constant, the radius of Earth, and compute the amount of incoming solar energy. Now, compute the amount of heat released by 100M barrel of oil. Don't talk until you have made these simple computation.

    • Thank you for the obvious....:)

    • <....heat from burning is NOT the claimed cause of the predicted global warming, it is greenhouse gases....>

The sun is the primary source of the earth's heat. A bit of geo-thermal exists but is likely insignificant. If there is a greenhouse effect, it traps the sun's heat in the atmosphere and the more efficient the greenhouse becomes the more heat that is trapped.

    • Don't you believe Al Gore? he has a Nobel Prize for it you know.

    • "In engineering, there is a concept of control volume where energy is conserved. This means that the fuel can be converted to kinetic energy, but eventually goes to heat."

So, by this argument, ANY form of energy we use to drive will end up in heat?

Plus you still have not explained how your "calculation" of "1 deg F every 10 years" has not come close to occurring.

Of course, your heat from burning is NOT the claimed cause of the predicted global warming, it is greenhouse gases.

Perhaps you have not properly studied your new religion...you need to sit at the feet of Master Gore a little longer.

    • lol....apparently the main source of "global warming" is the heat from the "climate change" funding leaches cooking the data.
