Sugar left TRW because they went and hired some some jerk (I think from GE) to come in and be the new CEO (bypassing Sugar)... Forget his name, but he bailed out with $10M parachute within 2 years. Sugar left TRW, then when at Northrop, he got his payback :)
TRW when down because they got a lawyer, Joe Gorman to run (ruin) the company after Sugar and their prize new guy left.
Ron Sugar's bio is:
"President and chief operating officer of Northrop Grumman Corporation from 2001 until 2003.
President and chief operating officer of Litton Industries, Inc., from 2000 until 2001.
President and chief operating officer of TRW Aerospace and Information Systems.
It seems he enjoyed a break in sevice from The Real Whiners Club before rejoining NOC.
He actually appears to have left TRW prior to the merger.
TRW did not go bankrupt. TRW was purchased by Northrup a number of years ago for $60.00 a share. The correct term would be defunct, not bankrupt. TRW Automotive is a different company. Be careful before posting something you know nothing about.
I think that "belly up" is a good choice of word. You may select the proper word that TRW employees and stockholders were f***ed, ph***ed, screwed, pillaged, betrayed, ignored, abandoned...
Please tell us that during its final year, TRW Space Park had how much BNP, RD, overhead fundings etc.
They're no longer in business as TRW.
That's what matters.
NOC to the rescue of the down trodden.
You can always hope NOC throws enough bones your way to keep your head above water.
We bailed out Grumman and Vought and a couple of wayward shipyards in the red southern states.
We are run by benevolent mgmt, we like charity cases.
