All you fools are holding? HAHAAHAHAHAA
Agreed... except I would say more like zero balances. Most of these young fools play with options and are loosing their shirts today and will tomorrow... Probably sitting on $350 or $400 calls that expire in October. Meanwhile... premiums are draining to nothing.
None of these loud mouth fools can afford a single share.
Nice to hear from someone who is down to earth.
GOOG doesn't compete with MSFT or NYT. Instead GOOG should eventually buy a media outlet like the New York Times to compete with Time-Warner. Content is king. GOOGle has excellent technology and software, plus talent and vision. They have money to buy complementary technologies to increase revenue exposure. The point is, if GOOG doesn't buy a place like the NYT to compete on a global scale, a place like the TV Guide will partner up with GOOGle to distribute and create more unique content. Most investors don't realize the capacity of this new phenomenon, the world of instant info-entertainment communcations.
Entertainment is only one channel of the media and massive revenue stream GOOGle can generate with content. So far, GOOGle is visibly focusing on making sure the network and infrastructure is in place for distribution. Terry Semel and his Hollywood buddies at YHOO can tell you all about this actual and massive cash-cow model. Integration of content creation with distribution. This paradigm shift will be noticeable in all business.
Forward PE...what a joke when you are talking about Goog. Grow up.. MSFT vs goog? MSFT sell software... goog sell 1 inch ads. Goog also said slowing sales.... did you not read it? When does a "high profile" company talk about a slowing quarater?..... When it's over!
who cares what their TRAILING PEs are. The companies I listed all have forward PEs in the 16-17 range. Except DNA which is in the 50s. GOOG is 40.
I'm going to stop replying to BS like this because it is tiring.
But just to point out the obvious, the stocks listed with forward PEs of 17 (msft, pfe etc) all have market caps over 200 BILLION. Goog does not have a market cap over 200 billion, but when it does, I would expect it to have a 17 FORWARD PE. Right now GOOGs forward pe is on the low side of a group of high profile 100 billion dollar club stocks like DNA.
