There used to be internet "trolls" who deliberately pretended to be horribly misinformed or insane in order to drive users -- especially very earnest/pompous users -- into a fury. (Slashdot was a popular target, for obvious reasons.) Do people still do that these days? Could Gin be a troll?
Because I'm reading Gin's denial of his own last two hundred posts or so, some kind of elaborate fantasy about how he wasn't pumping this stock for all he was worth. He's not making any effort to sell the lies, it's as if he really believes he's telling the truth. Either he is seriously insane, no idea of reality at all, or he's pulling our legs.
Aren't you people making all this is a bit too personal? This is just a message board to discuss the prospects of Google and its stock, not for crucifying fellow posters. Although Gin is haughty and he has made some poor predictions (but haven't we all here and there?), I think you're all being a little too rough on the guy.
It all started with a $1,000,000 challenge by FlyGuy2000 after he was constantly bashed by gin_soaked_beau. Then I posted the following post (with 27 recs!) which really tore open a previously left alone hornet's nest...see for yourself that it was a very benign and fair post which posed a few good points and nothing more:
It's only fair to beat the crap out of a douchebag assclown who's only intent is to fleece this board, yourself included, out of $800 a month. Not to mention his pompous assclown attitude.
He was the same way on EMLX. Pumped EMLX from $50 down to $8 in pure denial. It's all part of his pschizo paranoia.
