And if you believe that, you must not be familiar with Oracle's track record in this space :-). Their product innovation on Siebel and CRMOD has slowed to a near halt -- and a year after making Fusion "Generally Available" Oracle's Fusion CRM still doesn't have any reference-able customers. If you doubt me on this, just call Oracle's sales desk and ask one of their sales rep to name the reference-able Fusion CRM customers.
The big deals that SFDC has gained so much notoriety from over the last year are with former Siebel (i.e., Oracle) customers. So right now, Larry's all hat and no cattle when it comes to competing w/ SFDC. Good thing for them that there are still good margins in databases.
