A new report suggests that wireless carrier AT&T may have already begun testing a new, unannounced Lumia EOS smartphone running Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 operating system as well as Nokia’s proprietary 41-megapixel PureView camera sensor. The sensor had debuted over a year ago on the Nokia 808, a Symbian-powered smartphone, and since the device’s debut many have been hoping Nokia would port the 41-megapixel camera sensor onto its Lumia range with a more modern operating system.
It seems that the wait may not be too much longer for the 41-megapixel PureView sensor technology to appear on the rumored Lumia EOS smartphone. According to WP Central, a number of the publication’s trusted sources have confirmed that AT&T has already begun testing the device in the field.

Internally, to avoid leaks, the Rethink Possible network is referring to the device by its Elvis code name, according to those sources.
What’s unique here is that the camera will take an image at a 35-megapixel resolution for users to save and cherish and also a 5-megapixel image simultaneously for users to share via email or quickly upload to a social networking site. This is beneficial as images captured at the 34- or 38-megapixel resolution (depending on the image aspect ratio, the sensor will be cropped to accommodate a 3:2 image or a 16:9 image) can be upwards of 10 or even 15 MB in size, which may be too large to send as an email. Having a smaller 5-megapixel image will be great for this purpose and the 35-megapixel image will allow users to still have a high resolution image with lots of preserved details.

The phone will come with not only a packed 41-megapi
