    • First and foremost it is not a biopsy replacement and could in fact result in more biopsies for some dermatologists. So it will not be cutting into their biopsy revenue so to speak.

As far as reimbursement. It takes a minimum of 18 months and more often 2 years plus if the company pursues it aggressively. MELA has said they plan to take their time with the goal of building the case for MelaFind as a cost saver because it is FAR cheaper to treat Melanoma in the early stages. They hope to get a higher reimbursement by getting the cost saving data in order before pursuing reimbursement. In other words they are looking for a higher reimbursement rather than a fast one which would presumably be at a lower rate. Their plan in the short term (1 to 3 years) is to reply on self pay. The have said that US Derms have a well established self-pay business model. (Think Botox).

Listen to some of the recent CC. MELA CEO Gulfo talked about this issue in depth on one of the recent investor conference calls.
