Honest to God, I wasn't trying to be misleading, but when I said I had a significant loss as a result of Flight 800 - the loss was financial, I had at that time just taken a major stock position in them, and of course the wreck contributed heavily to their bankruptcy. Communications, Ahhhh, sometimes it is a hard thing to accomplish - but I do thank both of you for showing concerns over your perceived idea that I had lost someone near to me. Now I supect that Captain would still have some sympathy for my financial loss, but I imagine Fancy was shorting TWA and made a bundle. One thing I will always believe based on the evidence I've seen, was that a missile brought that plane down.
I was not kidding when I said that my dance partner and I were scheduled to be on that flight but booked off five days prior to travel on another carrier.
For about two years I only thought about the fact that we had booked off the flight until one day, someone mentioned the fact that two other people took our seats thinking that they "got lucky' with a last minute cancellation and the change to grab a quick flight to Paris.
I thought that it would have been the weirdest irony of the Universe if that had been somebody you knew.
