"The York Road property is about to cross the line from excessively shopworn to downright seedy. A broken clock adorns the second floor of the two-story structure; boards cover the front of one of several former first-level businesses; and a huge pothole and abandoned car mar the parking lot."
I can sure see why you wouldn't want to replace all that delapidation with a brand new Walgreens drug store.
"Next to the empty shopping center is a serene patch of grass and trees that once was a roadbed and has been kept up for years by the community; on a recent balmy early evening, no one was using it."
The Walgreens parking lot would take up a PORTION of this property. That would be a real shame. Then there would be less space to sit back and relax and view the boarded up, rat infested, neighboring lot.
"John Bessey, vice president of Cincinnati-based developer Phillips Edison & Co., said his company would spend $5 million to buy the land and build the store, which he says will employ 15 to 20 full- and part-time workers.
"It's a national tenant with a national reputation," he said. "I'm scratching my head over why all the fuss over something that has so much merit."
Yeah, but what about the rats? Walgreens would be destroying prime rat habitat. Aren't they an endangered species? What does the Humane Society have to say about all this?
City Councilman Robert W. Curran, who introduced the bill on behalf of BDC,
"I'd love to see a Ruth's Chris [Steakhouse] or LongHorn Steakhouse there, but no one's come to the table," he said. "The worst thing is for [the site] to be vacant for another three or four years."
Wouldn't be the worst thing for the rats.
"Well-known private planner Alfred W. Barry III, who works for the owner of a shopping center next door that is anchored by a Rite Aid, has rallied residents against the project."
OOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, OK, NOW I understand.
Here's the post where it was quoted. Why don't you ask AT where he got it? I assume it's a reliable source. Unlike you, I have no reason to believe he'd just make this stuff up. But of course I'm not the one worried about the sky falling on my head.
Yeah, Extrainer, snap to it. Dog has given you an order, so let's get on the ball. You wouldn't want to get him mad at you now, would you? After all, he shouldn't have to use his own time to search for whatever articles he so desperately needs. Make damn sure you get the right article too! He needs proof. While your at it, I'd like you to post all the links pertaining to EVERYTHING you have ever posted. I need proof to make sure every word you have ever said is true. Make sure they're the right links too.
RIGHT NOW, if you don't mind.
You can't really argue with anything at60418 says, because he's right on the money with the facts, but we just HAVE to find out WHO he is, because it make all the difference in the world. None of us should rest until we find out his identity and what he does. Even though it has no bearing on the data provided, we have to find out, because he posted factual information here, and we cannot let that go unpunished. Is anyone with me on this Pope thing? I'm going with the Pope, and that's my final answer.
Well thank you for setting me straight. It makes perfect sense to me now that I know they are willing to spend $5 million dollors for an abondoned patch of grass 1 mille from 9 other drug stores. Thank you for setting me straight.
Obviously management is doing a brilliant job and they are sure to be doubling the dividened any minute.
You nailed it. Once again, a favorite tactic of liberals is exposed by reality, e.g., using words that redefine what is real so as to represent what these guys want, instaead of what it actually is. Thus, we have "park" instead of "vacant lot."
Another example: "habitat" instead of "property that belongs to someone else that we want to control the use of because we are so enlightened and the property owner is greedy and stupid."
Thanks for the update on the property. All of this bitching is from WAG haters who grab onto anything they can to justify their negative feelings. Let the fools revel in their misery while we reap the rewards of being stockholders in a great company. I know the benefits of owning this stock.
After that reply you can rest assured -- your corp bonus is in the bag.
Anyone who doesn't think WAG corp HQ people pump the stock is too naive to invest in the stock.
So who do you work for at60418?
