Maybe a college recruiting campaign to inject some new thinking. Hire a top business school graduate from Stern, Tuck or Wharton who can explain valuation metrics in acquisitions. Then hire a top law school graduate from Yale or Harvard who can counsel top management on the ethics of announcing slowing of new store growth only to make reckless acquisitions that recreate the same problems, just in a different way."
