    • Yeah, Ok. You win.

    • Nick how about you engage in some intelligent conversation, you have said nothing of any importance. You have got to have something relevant to say instead of name calling. Ready set go...

    • <<<<From your hostile reply, I obviously touched a nerve>>>>

Yeah, you got me on that one. I visit these boards on occasion in the hopes of getting involved in a challenging discussion.

My disappointment sometimes turns to hostility.

    • <<<<WAG's market cap dropped $4 billion last week>>>>

When the share price goes down, the market cap drops. Another equally important point you failed to make is that the earth is round.

<<<<Walgreens made the acqusition of Duane Reade for about double the earlier Oak Hill purchase price, a few years ago. You know, the price which the seller got SUED for, for over-inflating.>>>>

Businesses are bought and sold every day. You are suggesting that Walgreens overpaid for DR. How much is DR worth to Walgreens in the long run?

<<<<The failed business plan is a duopoly. Half is derived from ridiculous store expansion, much of it redundant and unneccesary, and some of it just plain stupid acquisitions like DR. And the balance is asinine adventures in home infusion and in-store clinics... "Nurse Ratchet, report to the kitty litter aisle for a Cat Scan.">>>>

Every one is entitled to have his/her own opinion on these matters. Your opinion seems to be driven by bitterness and obsession.

<<<<<As for the "who/what/where/when" of planning malignancy: maybe the malaise began when Dave Bernauer assumed the helm at Walgreens and everything turned to subsequent doodoo for investors. What do you think?>>>>

It's difficult for me to agree or disagree with such a broad and all-encompassing statement that makes no point whatsoever.

    • <<<<if you cant understand this please ask>>>>

Ask what? You make no sense whatsoever. You use your extremely limited vocabulary, incomprehensible grammar, and incomplete sentence fragments to say absolutely nothing.

    • <<<<If you started your own company, you could.>>>>

Was this supposed to mean something?

I see you have trouble putting into words what you actually want to say.

      "failed business plan"???????????

      Who's plan????

      Which plan????

Is this a plan from several years ago????

Is this a plan from last week????

When exactly did this big plan take place????

      "meaningful strategic change"?????

I guess we're not seeing "meaningful strategic change" right now. The changes taking place, I gather, are without meaning and strategy.

"band-aid variety" I take it that you prefer the tourniquet variety. Please elaborate.

" largely hopeless, corporate hospice situation"

Shouldn't Walgreens stock price be zero in this hopeless situation?

    • what position were/are you with wag? did you work in the 200 building?

if your not in this biz,
take a look at this website
      http://www.txvendordrug.com/dw/FormularySearch.asp
      texas MAC list
i review some seizure and psych drugs you may be, note where revenue is?
Revenue on prescription drugs especially generics has done a number on WAG, CVS, RAD.
      (high cost structure).
CVS is able to mitigate this with Caremark, if you cant understand this please ask...

    • <<<<Idea 1 - stop selling stupid things.>>>>

What percentage of Walgreens selections would you consider stupid? Can you be a little more specific?

      <<<<Idea 2 - lower your prices.>>>>

On what? and by how much?

      <<<<Idea 3 - lose the arrogance.>>>>

This sounds personal. How would you implement this idea? Should management go into all their daily meetings as meek little subservient drones?

      <<<<Idea 4 - learn the PBM business.>>>>

You're not too familiar with Walgreens are you? Have you not noticed all the Senior Vice Presidents recruited from insurance companies and PBMs within the last 2 years.

Also, Walgreens HAS a PBM. Have you been living under a ROCK?

      <<<<Idea 5 - Buy a small PBM.>>>>

Which one? Should it be similar to the one Walgreens already owns?

<<<<Idea 6 - Keep ideas simple, this business is not complicated.>>>>

It's probably not considered "complicated" to you. You obviously have never been in any type of management position.

<<<<Idea 7 - Get talent from outside, your talent from within is crap.>>>>

Again, where have you been??????? Wasson has replaced most of the insider higher ups with outside talent including two executives from Walmart.

<<<<Idea 8 - Start cutting mgmt bonuses and salaries, give real performance bonuses.>>>>

Attracting and retaining quality management requires adequate compensation.

<<<< Idea 9 - Cant tell you as it will assist me.>>>>

Whatever relevance and pith you were trying to achieve with this list just got flush down the toilet with this last addition.

        <<<<Idea 1 - stop selling stupid things.>>>>

***Please stop selling items that do not turnover, SKU rationalization was a good idea.
Now learn to sell items that people will come in to buy. Obviously, some department must have access to this data. Give it to marketing.

        <<<<Idea 2 - lower your prices.>>>>

On what? and by how much?
***lower your standard margins.....overall more price competitive or negotiate better prices from suppliers if you wish to keep your margins the same, but you need lower prices.

        <<<<Idea 3 - lose the arrogance.>>>>

This sounds personal. How would you implement this idea? Should management go into all their daily meetings as meek little subservient drones?
**Not personal, ask anyone that has done business with WAG representatives. This business is not as easy as opening on a corner ie. "build it they will come". More choices today, from physician dispensing, to other retailers.

        <<<<Idea 4 - learn the PBM business.>>>>

You're not too familiar with Walgreens are you? Have you not noticed all the Senior Vice Presidents recruited from insurance companies and PBMs within the last 2 years.
**Yes I know who and from where...sorry bring in better talent, not the 2nd tier or 3rd tier leaders from rival companies that were not wanted. Targeted recruiting is a good idea.

Also, Walgreens HAS a PBM. Have you been living under a ROCK?
***No they don't, WHI has not been competitive with anyone. Its bleeding money.
You have a brain, you do, but you may not be smart? same concept, cant simplify it.

        <<<<Idea 5 - Buy a small PBM.>>>>

Which one? Should it be similar to the one Walgreens already owns?
***There is a nice one in Pennsylvania, small, growing, polished, sharp.

<<<<Idea 6 - Keep ideas simple, this business is not complicated.>>>>

It's probably not considered "complicated" to you. You obviously have never been in any type of management position.
***Yes I have. Above manager. To simplify, no McWalgreens cafes, REWIRE, etc., keep ideas simple, customer service, understand what the consumer needs and deliver. Also understand payor, big market out there.

<<<<Idea 7 - Get talent from outside, your talent from within is crap.>>>>

Again, where have you been??????? Wasson has replaced most of the insider higher ups with outside talent including two executives from Walmart.
***One of them left, cant remember who, article in Chain Drug. Referring specifically to MHS, ESRX, note CVS CMO, check his credentials. really check them.

<<<<Idea 8 - Start cutting mgmt bonuses and salaries, give real performance bonuses.>>>>

Attracting and retaining quality management requires adequate compensation.
***Not if they are not performing or corporate goals are not meant.

<<<< Idea 9 - Cant tell you as it will assist me.>>>>

Whatever relevance and pith you were trying to achieve with this list just got flush down the toilet with this last addition.
***No, in my business...I would be competing against WAG, CVS, etc....so why would I give my competitive edge?

Regardless, not trying to get into a battle with you, you'd be destroyed.

See if you can come up with good ideas to help your company.
Check SXCI if you get a chance.
