WAG CC forward guidance: True North!

    What to expect on 9/28?

"We made revenue by opening lots of unneeded new stores that shareholders paid for. We did this because willy-nilly store growth is what we do. In fact, it's all we do."

"We missed on earnings because our SGA remains bloated, "Power" and other cost-cutting initiatives have not delivered anticipated results and because we over-rewarded several under-performing executives with huge bonus/option stipends."

"Duane Reade failed to deliver any profit enhancement and, in fact, increased SGA as a % of sales while draining cash reserves as a result of retiring their scandalous amounts of debt."

"Flu-related revenues sagged as H1N1 hysteria of 2009 gave way to a normal marketplace in 2010."

"Numerous acquisitions in prior years failed to deliver meaningful profit results, with clinics and home infusion leading the crescendo of disappointing results."

"Mail-order prescription preference hammered the small box retail pharmacy space, and Walgreens in particular due to its very weak PBM posture vs. CVS and others."

"Front end business was weakened by both the recession and the attraction of low cost retail competition including Walmart and dollar stores."

Won't be long 'til we find out whose view of the future is accurate.

"We made revenue by opening lots of beautiful and needed new stores that shareholders will be repaid for over and over and over again. We did this because controlled store growth is what we do. In fact, it's all we do unless you count making money THE FIRST YEAR THESE NEW STORES ARE OPEN!"

"We WON'T miss on earnings because our SGA remains diminished and controlled, "Power" and other cost-cutting initiatives have delivered better than anticipated results and because we rewarded several top-performing executives with modest bonus/options unlike the humongous ransoms paid out by CVS to its top executives."

"Duane Reade has delivered already to profit enhancement and in fact, decreased SGA as a % of sales while maintaining cash reserves, since we took on NONE of their debt and bought them with cash already on hand ."

"Flu-related revenues soared as H1N1 bonanza of 2009 gave way to an even greater number of vaccinations in 2010."

"Numerous acquisitions in prior years have delivered better than expected profit results, with clinics and home infusion leading the way to superb results."

"Walgreens' mail-order prescription business has hammered the small box retail pharmacy space like Medicine Shop and Walgreens has also gained business due to its ever-increasing PBM posture vs. CVS and other small timers like WalMart."

"Front end business was strong and above expectations even with the recession and the competition selling low cost and even lower quality Chinese goods including Walmart and Dollar stores."

Won't be long 'til we find out whose view of the future is accurate. I say jump on board now or else the price will have gone up by the time you make up your mind and you will be left with just a load of crap in your pants like me!
