I work for this company and I tell you it is merely a shadow of its former self. Walgreens culture used to be promote from within, and allow the most qualified person have the position. Take care of the customer and the employee. Now it is nothing more than take care of the stockholder, everyone else can go to hell. If the job market weren't so bad than I would look elsewhere. I cannot imagine how this company continues to succeed, with the promotion and placement of inept district managers. "They" the powers that be promote pharmacists to district manager spots to run self service...these people have no business sense. Its no wonder that this company continues to have lawsuits against it, since the great majority of management have no business sense or ethics.
I too once for worked for WAG in Deerfield. Reimbursements declines have done a number on how WAG and RAD can operate. I can tell you that there are many RXs that barely make 5 to 10 dollars.
The lawsuits I was speaking of involve the other retailer. Filed by independent pharmacies with TX claiming RICO violations. These articles a good read and will garner some insight in these businesses.
WAG will do ok for employees, not the best pay, but good benefits.
