If nothing changes in the ESRX dispute, I suspect that come January 1st all that company KoolAid will be served to a drastically shrinking cadre of Walgreens pharmacists. In fact, I bet some of them have to trade in their pom-pom's for a CVS labcoat, a Rite Aid apron or a Walmart "May I Help You" vest.
Anybody care to comment on how many pharmacists it takes to fill a billion dollars in Rx's? Two billion? Three billion? Four billion? Five billion?
....but Walgreens pharmacists will be giving advice and flu shots and eyebrow shapings. Therefore Walgreens can charge more than other drug stores. For all this extra service, ya know...this is how Walgreens differs from your run-of-the-mill drug store. Come on now, a whole group of the greatest minds produced by ivy league schools with a little help from Booz and PWC can't be wrong (again and again) can they?
dispute, come January, the Walgreen Co. Annual Meeting should be very interesting. But at least the shareholders can get a free eyebrow shaping along with the "look how much cost reduction we have accomplished" story.
