i bought 500 shares of walgreens a few weeks before this last split. i used to live in an area that had 3 walgreen stores within a 5 miles radius. always did business at walgreens. this area now has 3 new stores within the same radius maybe add a mile or two. i moved to the country and now the only drug store within 25 miles is revco. man what a soory place. they never have my scripts. even though i get them every month. they will never do anything extra for a customer. they don't like phoned in orders, because they are afraid you won't actually come in and pick them up. even when you phone them in they are seldom ready the next day. i could go on, and the natives around here hate them more than i do. the only good thing is they are walgreen's competition. i for one am going to expand my holdings in walgreens every time it goes below 29.
I work for Walgreens, and have a bit of information about your delima with Revco, have your scripts mailed form Walgreens Mail Facility, check out the site on the internet, at: www.walgreens.com. I think this might help, but it probably won't be too long, when there is a Walgreens Near you.
i will definitely check that out. i knew you could order via the net, but it said you had to go to the store to pick it up. i didn't know they had mail order. thank again. i'll feel better when i hand them my money.
i have a lot of walgreens stock. that is for long term profit. i make my living as a trader, so i figure any more will be for fast profit. but i never buy a stock that i would not be willing to hold for at least 5 years if i misjudge the market. walgreens fits the bill on all counts. hey we all have our own plan right?
