IMHO there are a few reasons for WAG's recent
decline:
> Last 52 weeks trading range of 16 1/4 to 33 15/16
- this stock has doubled in past year. It's simply
taking a well-deserved rest.
> Current P/E is
over 55. Pretty heady.
> Possible underlying
uncertainty about new online sites like
drugstore.com
With that being said, there is no reason for concern
for the long-term WAG holder. Walgreen is a
first-rate company with good management, a super-consistent
track record, good current earnings (released today),
good same store sales, and virtually no long-term
debt. What more would you want?
If WAG pulls
back further in here, it is a great opportunity to buy
more and/or add to your DRP.
Profile mentions mail processing facilities run by company--
would appreciate info on what they are and if company has any
other subsidiaries. Thanks!
where do you get 48% as the capital gains rate. last i checked its 28%.

Just a reminder that on tuesday at 6PM EDT,
Edward Jones has a closed circuit broadcast on the drug
industry with Dan Jorndt of Walgreens as their featured
speaker. If you contact your local Edward Jones office, I
am sure that they would not mind you sitting in,
even though you are not a client of theirs. I am a
client and not a broker, in fact a retired WAG store
mgr.

Your son may be very smart but he has a long way
to go in life. I sold half my wag stocks in Feb.
Bought JBOH at $8.00. up 80% in two months. At 15 he
sure should beable to take a chance. Look luck in your
trades.
Call in sick if you are going to be late? Wow!
How do you make it in this world of ours? Time, what
an novel idea. Either you have an axe to grind or
you have not obviously worked in the retail
marketplace before. The starting pay is roughly equal at the
top retail establishments: Walmart, Sears, Target,
Walgreens, Rite Aid etc...Oh, I know you must be an
economist. That's it! Get a life. Not everyone can make
$160,000/yr like you. We all wish we could be you. Ya right!
the brokerage firm of a.g. Edwards has picked wag for this months recommendation. They say that wag will turn around again and climb into favor again---great insight into the company.
The word is yourself, not youeself. Maybe a little educating would help.
Well, well english teacher, the word is yourself not youeself.
I hope you make a living not correcting others.
and it will not swing wildly like the ones we
always hear about. I have dabbled a bit in the net
stocks and have made and lost money. My 15 year old son
had some money and wanted to invest. "Dad find me a
stock that I dont have to worry about every day like
you do"
I got him into WAG pre-split @$59 and he
hasnt looked at it since.
" I'll look at it in
10-15 years", he said.
"Smart kid", I thought.
