    Please

I have been hearing this talk about ready for run
to new high for about six months. Doesn't matter if
the company has no debt. They are in a nonglamorous
industry that is not too well liked by Wall Street lately.
I unfortunately bought at 30 and I feel I have dead
money this year. The split was months ago. I have a
slew of other stocks that have split this year and
they didn't take more than three months to start their
growth. Dead money for the rest of the year, between
    23-27.

by the way I bought the stock to hold for three
year. Not too much either. At least I am honest,
instead of people who claim they are buying thousands of
    shares of stock. Yeah right.

    • I believe Walgreens also has Rxpress pharmacies in Evansville, IN and Spokane, WA.

    • I'm not sure I understood your post. The only
stand alone WAG pharmacies I'm aware of are in Southern
CA (Walgreens Express). Currently they are being
phased out in favor of full size WAG stores, but not
because they weren't profitable, but rather because the
response to them was so good. They were a small square
footage test to get the company's feet wet in a new
market where real estate is expensive. The test was a
success, and there will soon be many full size WAG stores
      in Southern CA!

    • at the end of the tunnel may be starting to
show. They started crunching the numbers yesterday for the
annual figures, and who's got a sneaking suspicion that
they look pretty good?!! Yes,the market was up,but in
past instances that really had little baring on
Wag.That volume was another clue that some more eyes might
be looking in on old faithful to put up some
impressive figures for '99-and all this during the largest
most expensive expansion in the history of the
      company.Hold tight,the ride's just begun!!!! :>

    • Where is the new web site? I thought it was coming out today. Is it out?

    • it has not seen $22 5/8 yet, it may get there tomorrow then
      rally.

    • but you are wrong about interest rate direction
(near term at least)...the fed has tightened twice in
the last 2 months...we will not see a rate reduction
until the fed is convinced the economy is not
overheating and there are no inflation concerns...the best
you can hope for is a neutral rate policy from these
levels...relistic range for 30 yr bond for the next month or two is
5.8% to 6.2%....It has never occured in the history of
the fed where there have been "2 increases in rates
followed by a drop in rates within 3 months"...and since
we just had the 2nd increase, you are looking at 3
months of sideway trading at best in the bonds...the
effect on wag?? I have no idea..but based on recent
performance I would not bet on much higher.

    • the beginning of a recovery. it will most likely go up more tomorrow. it looks strong enough that this may be the start of an uptrend

    • Good, strong volume on the buy side this morning.
Daily moving average is at 24 5/8. WAG should be moving
up to this point. Would be nice to see it run on
through. Also seeing larger buys than the advertised ask
price. In the past this has been a good sign for upward
      movment.

    • True, the drugs are consumer necessities. but wal
makes a majority of their profit on outside store
sales, and that could shift downward with less consumer
spending. for example, the stand alone pharmacies are being
taken out because....not profitable. don't worry
though, with wal internet site the stock price is going
      to go up...keep the faith...
