"We" find it funny that the only trades posted or positions posted are from whales

    Does that strike as odd?

why would someone trading 70,000 shares of ANYTHING post on this board?

    • Wes is an interesting poster and I believe has a couple of motivations. He reminds me alot of Rush Limbaugh in that regard.

      1) He wants to inform. Although I can't afford to lose all my money and therefore limited mself to 6% of my portfolio on my short, Wes has made money here and sincerely wants to see others do the same . . . and maybe more importantly avoid losing their money as a long.

      2) And he wants to entertain. In bizarroworld where we all live now, up is down and down is up. Why not have some fun with it.

Truth is, if you aren't a HFT, trading is kind of dull. Informing and entertaining helps pass the time.

      • Thanks buddy. It does pass the time for sure. Opinions are definitely entertaining. Out of the blue you will get a perspective from another trader that you'd never of thought of. I'm a turn coat by nature and shy away from those "trader" boards. Kind of makes me laugh. A track record is all you need to prove you were right more than 51% of the time, I haven't had a down year ever in 9 years. That's all the talking necessary.

But I do get angry watching people destroy themselves when the trades are free for the taking like short RIMM, FB and VXX. They are telegraphed way in advance all of them but you MUST read the prospectus!!!!!!

    • I assume we means me as I posted our position. I am far from a whale. My account does not exceed even 10 million. Margined of course. Why do those numbers bother you? I feel poor! In dollar terms VXX short has made us approximately $632k this year and counting. Hardly enough for a nice car if you ask me. It has taken 9 years to get to this point and we pay out 15% privately.
Your welcome for my opinion. I'm biased to the MSG boards being an original #$%$er in the late 80s. Twitter doesn't work for me.

So again your welcome for the help with short VXX. I've tried my best to steer people short on this product for a long time! Please read the prospectus! Please! It goes to $0. It is very simple.

    • I must agree that the amount of dough some of the traders on this board suggest that they manage is mind boggling. Makes you think that more than just 1% of population have the big bucks. I do appreciate any whales contribution to this board, because I would like to join the ranks of the whales some day. Ok, may not happen, but with short position in VXX, anything's possible!

      • Or maybe they have bigger mouths than bank accounts. I dont really care. The most impressive guy who showed up on this board is the guy who lives on a beach in Brazil, living off his investments and raising a family. And helping others by blogging about his investments. It doesnt matter what's in your bank account. It matters what life you lead, and what you give to others. money is just a means to that end.
