Fun to watch the market go strait up!!

Just like a roller coaster the higher it goes up, the more fun you have when it heads down!!

    • Fun watching my 401K jump significantly every week. I have a ways to go before I retire, but nice to see some life in all that money I 've been pumping into those mutual funds that are all "risk on" type funds.
I have so much protection in my trading account that it hardly moves from day to day, as I wait for a correction in the market. I have plenty of Theta now from bull put spreads, and a few iron condors, so that my trading account still makes some money despite nearly neutral whether market goes up or down right now.
I would love a pullback in the market. But if the bulls keep running, I will just kick back and take the theta profits and watch my 401K soar! Every tiny pull back in the market, I just set up another safe, way out of the money bull put spread.

      • I enjoy reading and learning from your post. I have been trading options for a bit more than a year now and I have a question regarding your statement about THETA with your bull put spreads. Lets say you sold a bull put spread of a company with strikes of 12/10 for a credit of $100 and a the trade has gone in your favor for 6 months and you have 3 months till it expires. How can THETA be your friend? Seems to be that if the trade began to go against you in the last three months and you decided to trade out of it you are still at risk of needing to purchase the $12 strike and sell to $10 which means you are giving up the credit spread and possibly the entire $100. Any explanation would be helpful as I have experience similar with bearcalls.

        Sentiment: Sell

Good call but i found my IRA needed a lot of cash to handle the margin. Do you end up with a lot of margin you have hold in your account.
