    Lending Tree Really Stinks

Decided to give Lending Tree a try to see what they could offer on a home equity LOC. My bank offered 5% adj. and up to $500k equity line and I wanted to compare with other lenders. What a waste of time. I completed LT's on-line form and submitted. My stats: 800+ FICO, $1.5+ mil. equity, $1+ mil. liquid assets, executive salary, zero consumer debt, married, own home 26 years.

Two days later I get a call from Houshold Finance offering me (upon approval) $25K at credit card rates. So much for "When banks compete". No other responses form any lender or from LT. What a joke Lending Tree is. If this is any sign of how IAC companies execute, watch out longs.

    • When you say "your bank" I am guessing you have a long term relationship established with them, and probably large checking, savings, etc. accounts...Of course they are going to be in the best position to offer you an attractive rate...they know you....no other bank is going to extend itself very far right now...it is the way it is, and I don't think it has anything to do with Lending Tree not representing you to their banking network well..they can't demand that banks offer you favorable rates...
