    USAI's interest in WorldGate

I have heard an interesting discussion about USAI
having more than a passing interest in WGAT, the
recently IPO'd cable based internet service provider. The
company has strategic and financial relationships with
both set-top box manufactures and is in field trials
with cable MSO's representing over 33mm POP's. Most
importantly their patented Hyper link capabilities are ideal
for USAI's current online offerings. I am curios as
to this Board's thoughts on the topic. WGAT's page
    is www.wgate.com.

    • I'm a long term investor in both USAi & TMCS.

What info do you have on this relationship?

      • Unfortunately I have little information at this
point but I have been familiarizing myslef with WGAT.
One of the main risk factors in Worldgate's business
plan is signing up cable MSO's to carry their internet
service. It is plausible that WGAT could leverage Diller's
relationship with MSO's to help land service contracts. From a
pure WGAT perspective I feel the company's prospects
are solid since at $4-12 a mo. the MSO investors in
@Home and Roadrunner may want to provide the WGAT
service for subscribers without a P.computer, thus not
excluding WGAT ability to enter into service contracts with
the cable MSO's supporting @Home and RRunner (TCI,
TW, Comcast). I will be checking various news sources
for further clarification on this rumor and keep the
board posted. Market Cap of WGAT is at $500MM and will
likely move on confirmation of any rumor.
