WELLSVILLE — International Association of Machinists Local 1580 employees this afternoon rejected a contract with Dresser-Rand. The vote at the David A. Howe Library's Nancy Howe Auditorium was 172-118, employees were told.
However, employees said, a subsequent vote to go on strike failed, 149-129, meaning they would go to work under the contract they rejected. Chris Green, union president, declined to comment Wednesday evening after the vote.
SO THE UNION HAS NO RATIFIED CONTRACT, BUT WILL WORK UNDER THE NEW CONTRACT?????? WHATS UP WITH THAT? SEEMS LIKE IN THAT SITUATION THE CO. CAN LOCK THEM OUT AT ANYTIME THEY DESIRE AND HAS NO LEGAL OBLIGATION TO HONOR ANY ASPECT OF ANY CONTRACT SINCE NO APPROVED CONTRACT EXISTS. NO DOUBT THIS UNION IS AS SCREWED UP AS THEIR MGT..... THEY DESERVE THE SCREWING THEY ARE ABOUT TO GET.
