    Laughing Platelet Cells

Some of you old timers may remember one of the first 163L treatment patients, Laughing Platelet Cell (LPC) who would post on this board once in a while. At least I think that was the alias that he used. I think that he also had a blog. I've changed computers a couple of times since he last posted and I've lost his bookmark.

I don't know why, but as I was reading one of the 163L threads this morning, I thought of him.

Unfortunately, 163L did not help and he switched to other treatments which I believe were also experimental.

Do any of you know what ever happened to him?

I think that he was very sick with cancer and he might not be with us any longer.

    • Black, if you are trying to track down his blog, try laughing plasma cells. It is very unfortunate that imetelstat has not proven to be helpful in MM. The current phase II from Hopkins/Univ of Md. involved only two sites and appears to be directed to proving the stem cell hypothesis. Await full results with interest. MF is the best hope now. It is encouraging to see Kelsey using language like disease modification, molecular marker reduction which is similar language used by Dr. Tafferi in his articles when referring to what the current JAK2 inhibitors are lacking. Geron is down but not out. bp
