bail us out of our frustration of investing in Geron. Hope that the management optimizes return on our investment and brings pleasant end to our patience!
The news for ET is very good but really just extends out the time period for earlier disclosed results.
And since the company has said they did not plan to pursue ET to market we have to consider what the ET results may hint at for MF, which is where they are heading next, assuming the investigator sponsored trial at Mayo clinic is positive.
The company has indicated the Mayo trial is showing enough positive signs to continue it. That is good, but we won't find out specifics probably until ASH in December.
We must keep in mind that ET is unique because excess platelets is a symptom, and a side affect of Imetelstat treatment is suppression of Platelets, which for ET is an actual benefit.
However this may mean dosing levels in ET that may not be tolerated in MF, therefore possibly requiring reduced dosing below a level that will have any affect on the underlying disease.
Until I see the ASH results I will stay on the sideline. I have been burned badly in the past with Geron but I still have some hope for MF but want to see supportive results before commiting again.
Thanks for your knowledge-based response. Yes, the time to trust the management is still not ripe. And, I agree with you that our past experience rightfully leaves us pessimistic. Your cautinary note is really apprecitaed.
I do not disagree with you; but, I give credit to Imetelstat and whoever at Geron came up with it and not the management. I am still concerned about what the management is going to do! However, one thing sure seems very optimistic and that's the future of Imetelstat, the first ever product this company has come up with in its two decades of existence, which is unusually long for any such publicly traded outfit. It has already taken too much of shareholder patience and that certainly is the failure of its management.
It's nice to see some positive news (in fact it's nice to see any news out of this company), but don't grasp at straws. Remember how many times we have been down this road only to get run over by a "Nope, that won't work" truck.
Up 7 cents does not justify doing cartwheels. After waiting for years a little more patience to see if this will amount to anything should not be a problem for long term holders.
