Mark,Same equipment not true. The only think that is kind of the same is the RF STB. RF is only used from the OTN at the house to the STB, There is NO outside copper plant to go bad. Much more reliable.
No. Stop. to a lineman who knows zilch about a headend, let alone a Verizon headend compared to comcasts, that might be true. Stop please. I have 13 years and have been to both. Same stuff feeding the DIGITAL plant. I send 4mb/s down to a box, and I get 4 m/b at the settop. Each one uses the same Video equipment, with the same settings. A digitial signal using 256QAM, and the same compression (or no compression) looks the same at the endpoint. You know that, I hope right?
Its a digital signal, and not the old analog junk you refer too. I actually have a brother who has Verizon that lives right up the street. I have comcast IT IS CONSISTATLY faster. He pays almost 2 x what I do too. I even boguth him cones to use when that Verizon service truck (and a really ragged one too, btw) shows up.
no. to a lineman, thats the only thing the same. To someone who really knows both systems, your dead wrong. Once again, in the headend, in the home, they are TOTALY the same. FIOS is NOT faster..the picture is the same. It digital, not analog. stop. Please.
