Comcast service sucks, long waits for restoring individual service will eventually cause stock to suffer, when they begin losing customers due to poor service, in my personal experiences. Word gets around after a while about service.
I don't know why they stopped the build out. Guessing they were running out of money or waiting for a better deal with the unions. May they think they can provide service via air waves using IP.
I wonder why they don't develop what cable labs called "killer apps" to make use of the extra bandwidth. That would dealt a death blow to cable service. Sure we can all think of some, like HD quality video conferencing for the family.

More channels? Well if you toss in the fact that he gets about 30 local channels, and none from the area he lives in, then, well yea.
Poor guide, really aweful selection of VOD, and you pay more for it. Wait, I can update my status on Facebook by using my remote control. I can put "At home using Netflix", when you want to watch a fick. :)
Just talking in New Jersey, person's Comcast service is out from the storm. Comcast Customer Service (?). doesn't know why they are out, doeesn't know if anything is being done to fix whatever is out, and doesn't know when she will be back in service.
As technology improves and people move from cable to alternate services, most delivered initially by wire/fiber distribution, that will have an effect on Comcast. As Obama continues to demonstrate an inability to positively impact the economy, that will have an impact on the economy.
New technologies will quickly see early adopters and consumer migration to new services that do not require the financial support of subscribers for hundreds of high priced channels they do not use.
Hopefully, I will time my exit appropriately. Of course, there is a chance that Comcast will adapt with them. T and VZ this applies to also. New technologies are eroding, very slowly now, the high paying base.
