My daughter is a public school teacher so her monthly income is limited. She is a customer of Comcast for call and internet access. Her last bill was $20 per month more with fewer channel choices. When she called Comcast they tried to up-sell her to uneven more expensive plan. I get it companies are in business To make money, but Comcast's practice seems immoral, in not illegal:
1). Comcast owns MSNBC and Bravo yet they don not include them in their basic package. MSNBC and Fox 'News' are competitors yet Comcast wants you to pay extra for a station they own. The result, folks under the basic plan do not have the option to watch MSNBC - they can watch Fox under the basic plan, giving that station ratings and viewers to the ads they run. It makes no sense, it's almost as if Comcast wants to penalize their customers and lessen the audience for their advertisers
2) I hope the justice department looks into this company's promotional pricing and up-selling practices
3). Customer service is, in a word , worthless
Comcast's NBC is now number 5, last place, in the latest ratings. It might be smart for Comcast to include their own stations in the basic plan - more viewers for the programming and more eyes on the ads they run.
