Another 20MW for A123 LFP batteries. But nothing about what's going on at Johnson City.
"The Angamos BESS is comprised of approximately one million advanced lithium-ion battery cells, divided between ten 2MW battery containers, and five 4MW power controls containers. A123 Systems supplied the energy storage systems for the project. The power controls modules were provided by ABB. "
ALTI worked with ABB for the modular 20-foot PCS that is now used by AES but with A123 battery cells.
There are some technical errors in your report such as the expressions "20MW of energy" and "20MW of advanced battery-based energy storage". MW is a measure of power, not energy. The power rating of a battery by itself is meaningless unless the energy storage rating is also given. For example, there is a big difference between a battery that can supply twenty MW of power for five minutes or five hours. The latter stores sixty times more energy than the former and therefore would cost about sixty times more.
