ZLCS is my pick. Excellent pipeline, partnerships with several major drug companies and several catalysts comming up near term. One of the best Biotech stocks out there unbder $5, I rate it one of the best 5. The only downsie is that because of there deep pipeline, they spend alot of cash on R&D and trials and need to do stock deals very 6 months, but if you can deal with that, you have a great Biotech, at $1.05 is a steal.
I'm going parley some of the money into OMX Aug 4 calls(in the money) and hope the get taken out by Office Depot, Staples or private equity...they are profitable and have over $550 million in cash, very little debt with a market cap of $400 mil...industry needs consolidation......
Keep your eye on GLUU....I am not saying you should buy or not...But After this weeks disasters with Face book and Zynga,
Gluu came out and preannounced on Thursday afternoon...Beat the street and upped guidance!
Dan Niles likes it along with needham and several others.....It has found how to monitize the mobile gaming space.....
IMHO, it will not last 6 months as a stand alone company....
They will host their call on August 2nd....Take a listen.
CLDX is probably the best 5 dollar play in the business. Owned by institutions
CPRX is very suspect but potential
TLON is suspect as well
EXEL best oncology pipeline in the business but they are owned by money managers and others.
I would be still careful of the Stem plays if they are not in phase three and in the United States I would not pay attention to them
I think ARNA is a better play that VVUS.
40- 60 percent of drugs coming through research have an oncology focus. There is so much to go into research you really have to understand mechanisms of action, market potential, and synergy effects.
Oil is the easier industry and just as fun.
Tech I find challenged like OCZ you are waiting for them to take hold as well.
I know thousands of drugs companies and would be happy to take a look if you have a play.
Hokie, I am in the tech arena, but tried to swing some options on ARNA when they were running up to thier approval. That did not workout so well for me, thought we would get a pop to 15 and I would make 5K instead only popped to 12 and I cut bait on my options taking a 2k loss. I was looking at STEM to purchase 3k shares. What do you think of them? They just got some funding from California to continue trials, but they are burning through cash. Also isn't the stem cell science really politically unstable which could lead to them going nowhere? Just want to understand what potential they could have as a biotech play.
Thanks for any info.
