Theo Valich wrote on his site on 08/13 that TMS will be acquired. On 08/16 it was announced that IBM will acquire TMS.
Well, if this is not a real proof that Theo's got quality sources then I don't know what is...
Look forward to OCZ BO!
Theo is an odd character. He tends to shoot from the hip as evidenced in a) tweeting that OCZ's CFO had resigned without notice before doing due diligence and b) alluding to the CEO's "amazing character" in delaying sale of the company until shareholders could approve added stock compensation to corporate insiders, again without understanding that the CEO himself was the primary beneficiary. I'm not saying that OCZ will or will not be acquired by STX, but Mr. Valich's credibility has proven to be highly questionable.
Maybe the thing to take out of it is that TMS was sold 9 months after word got out that they were trying to sell. If OCZ began shopping themselves in April as the evidence strongly suggests, that puts us at January at the latest for a buyout on a similar timeline.
Brianna this is very intresting indeed.
I have 2 thoughts on this,
1)Eventhough copying ones work is morally wrong he did not lie about the story just re-ran it with out giving credit. Ethiclly wrong but still not making stuff up.
2)This proves that theo is legit and he really does have knowlege of stuff like he says he does and he has been in this industry for at least 5 years.
summary of my thoughts, while coping is wrong, i feel a bit better that he does have sources like he said he does and he has a history of jounalizm. So he still stands by his buyout and we will see soon enough. But still dont think that a journalist will just make something like the B/O up as in his industry if you play like that you wont last a year let alone 5.
One thought though there are always 2 sides to a story and when it comes to $$ or fame even your best friend can turn agaist you.
JMHO thanks for the story
