When rumors and suggestions of an acquisition of OCZ circulate, one would think that forums for both companies would be abuzz with speculation. I find it interesting that STX forum participants never gave this rumor the time of day. There are absolutely ZERO advocates of a deal on their home front. It's an interesting commentary on human nature.
I'm an STX long... And I just come over here for the speculation talk.
One thing I was wondering is that the rumor is based on 50/50 stock and cash deal @ 1.16B... So how do they decide how many shares are awarded to OCZ since the price is always changing, and if the deal is already inked and just waiting to be released all OCZ shareholder should be hoping for STX to continue it's current run, correct???
If anyone can clear this up for me it would be greatly appreciated
It's impossible to clear it up because no one knows if any agreement was ever made or even contemplated. However, it would seem logical that an amount of money would be agreed upon and then a share exchange would be based upon the value at the time an agreement was actually signed.
