    • PS multiple is a bargin, someone will pick this up, and looks like the players are maneuvering/consolidating for segment control.

    • WDC buying STEC will put them at having a 11.9% share of the high margin Enterprise SSD market, which is just behind #1 INTC with 18.1% and #2 FIO.with 13.6%.

      SNDK buying Smart Storage will put them at having a 8.1% share of the high margin Enterprise SSD market.and will put them just behind Samsung, who is the 4th biggest player.

      FIO has a quite nice cash position (3.61/share), so given their market share and net of cash a desirable acquisition.

      The Register says SSD consolidation speeds up;
      Supplier consolidation in the SSD market is accelerating and it now looks likely to the storage desk at Vulture Central that Seagate might feel impelled to strengthen its SSD credentials by buying an existing SSD supplier too. (Shh... no one mention OCZ). Stifel Nicolaus analyst Aaron Rakers wonders whether Fusion-io is now a likely target for enterprise flash device consolidation efforts.
      It is expected that the acquisition will close in August.
