FWIW, started a position in NS. although the yahoo stats look dreadful, I believe getting rid of its 2 drags (asphalt and refinery) will turn NS around. Soooo, they're left with fee based pipeline system out of Eagle Ford which now is optimal considering that the usa will be catching up with Saudi Arabia.
One has to wonder what the CEO was thinking about. Would be better if he left but, that won't happen.
I don't know what the CEO was thinking about but I do know what I was thinking about when they got into the asphalt business...DO YOU RECALL the $787 billion dollar stimulus for building ROADS and BRIDGES??? When anyone makes a decision based on a BIG FAT LIE, about 99% of the time you end with a bad decision. I do not recall you posting that NS should be investing in the asphalt and refinery business, if you did please refresh my memory with one of your post. Playing second base always makes one look smarter...
Doing business with any government is dangerous, unless you play the game. The game is pleaser resume. With BO you give to his reelection and you get a juicy contract. Such is life, I guess NS was not completely in the reelection deal.
