you didn't read the article or you read it wrong. They can use ANY biomass ( corn husks,to chicken entrails and blood.)You wouldn't use Marketable meat. just scraps... Their making a machine that'll take a whole cow and turn it into oil. not just #2 diesel... but natural gas, Magnesium and calcium for fertilizer, and carbon powder (used in making tires and copier toner.) the Butterball plant alone will generate 600 barrels of oil a day by itself. Those who think e will not eventualy move be it in 50 years plus towards alternatives to petro are ina bout the same place as those who didn't beleive that radio or TV was possible, that travel to the moon wasn't possible etc,.
I already have a friend who entirely powers his car from bio diesel fuel in Vermont. Just drove the car down to NC and back without a hitch. Bascially gets the old cooikng grease from MdDonalds and Wendy's. No sulfates come out and the wxhaust snmells just a little like popcorn.
With BP's commitment to alternative energy I wouldn't be surprised to see them take leaderhip there just as they already have in the world of solar energy.
