10 times the value of BP won't pay for the damage of 1/4 of US coast land that will be damaged after this is all over. Also we all know the first to take the hit will be the share holders, that's a no brainer. This could even hit the shore line of New York City by the time it's all over.
I disagree.. the costs of the cleanup are backbreaking for any company. After they get done paying the record-setting bill issued by the government, they will be sued into oblivion by every fisherman and property owner along the coast. Imagine being a beach house owner along the oil ridden coast trying to sell your 2nd house. Good luck! No one has even mentioned this. Not to mention the falloff in sales they are sustaining from all the bad press and public anger. They're toast.
