Since the pop of their oil well in the gulf, the public wonders if big oil executives are only concerned about their own life style. No doubt a lot of the claims will wind up in court but if Bp mounts a vigorous defense and tries to blame others the public will vote with their feet as it were and forget about sales at the pump under the Bp sign. There was already a hint of how the blame game is going to go at early hearings that were supposed to be about problem solving. There is every chance that Bp will not exist as bp in the future. This stock could pop to zero. Further arguments about the actual rate of the oil spill also casts doubt on the credibility of Bp. This does not look good for Bp. If i was an investor i would pop out of this stock right now, unless i wanted to gamble. One has to think Bp is also at a disadvantage becuase it is not a US based company and could easily wear out its welcome if all is not made right. jmho.
