Let's step back and take a look at the big picture in this "I want it today" World. How many millennia has the planet been cleaning up leaking oil without any human intervention?? As unfortunate as this is now, it isn't permanent!

These are the suits that will bankrupt BP. They will have to file for protection. It's about saving the business. Common stock will take the hit. American Taxpayer will pay the bill. Courts more likely to rule against BP than US taxpayer. You will have to root for BP to survive. Good luck with that as it doesn't look likely.

Or lets look at this from another perspective. Say the property you bought went up in value. it worths a million now. Would you pay BP some of that money you made? NO. Then why should bp pay for your loss.
