I have been holding this stock for 20 years and done well over all reinvesting dividend. But, I am done with BP. I think the EPA is going to fine the living Cr@p out of BP and it is going to tank hard and long. I may buy it back after it bottoms-out. Good luck to all you longs. But, I do advize you to bail.
Should have sold out when the Gulf of Mexico disaster hit. I did and waited for the dust to settle. Now back in as BP accounted for the disaster, reestablished the dividend and IMHO will be profitable in the future.
YUP, I really blew that one. Stupid me believed the early BP reports that the spill was no big deal. I hope he dies soon so that he gets to h3ll quicker. Him and Ralph Nader. I could be looking at an early retirement if not for those two douche bags.
OH Yeah, I thought twice, three times, 100 times, 1000 times, 10,000 times over the last 7 barren fruitless years of ZERO return. Thanks for the advice greenie. Also, if you are long, you are welcome to the returns you are about to enjoy as I know it will pop now that I finally bailed (hahaha).
They'll never pay $20 billion.
When the next little conflagration pokes it's head up in the Middle East....probably before Nov. elections. Israel with Iran. Israel with Hamas in Lebanon. Maybe Syria going ape-poopy. Egypt shutting off gas to Israel thru the Sinai.
Take you pick.
Own oil, gas and coal stocks. Just in case.
To me, BP is still the most undervalued energy company in the world.
