Out of all the claims against BP (20,000) you can bet 35% are fraud.
Now it's up to the judge to weed them out and prosecute.
The total cost estimated to BP is outlandish.
Out of the top 5 oil companies in the world no one else could afford these costs along with the cleanup.
Everyone else would have declared BK and no one would get a cent.
BP has done more than is expected of them.
If it was Exxon you wouldn't ( claimers) get paid for 25 years after they did the same cleanup like BP.
They would fight every frivulous claim in court as Exxon did with the Valdez.
BP should do the same. They are being screwed and shouldn't take it no more. Especially from our own Govt.
Yes BP and other companies have a part in this disaster and should share the blame and cost equaly.
End of story!
One more thing, I have held stock in all the companies mentioned in this disaster and will continue to hold them all. THEY are all good companies and would never have done this for the sake of making money over the environmental consequenses.
Of course he did, these BP schmucks pull all their numbers out of thin air.
I'm a value investor - buy out of favor long, and short the flavor of the month. BP presents the unique opportunity to take advantage of a company getting run up by fools who seek fake value. It's like selling meal tickets to passengers on the RMS Titanic - I'm like the chic with Leo ;)
Google BP news. Yesterday claims administrater said the $3B mark for payouts happened. You get one or two fraud claims, but 99.9% are getting paid out. That will end up going over $20B at this rate. Plus CWA fines ($17.4B, imo) plus OPA fines (estimated at up to $31B), plus new lawsuits (2,200 of them), plus punitive damages by the states.
BP is getting riddled by so many claims/suits/bullets that it will eventually topple.
I will try not to laugh too hard at the resident BP fools (except for the little pecker fella, who deserves to be mocked relentlessly).
In the millitary 10% never get the word.
In the case of providing free thingings it's 35% who sign up and don't deserve it.
That percentage includes those who work under the table for cash and the illegals who are taking from the americans who need it.
You need to spend some time in our countries emergency rooms and the pregnancy area.
They all need special assistants who can speak multipal languages.
Of course in many many cases bills are never paid.
Last year I spent 2 hours in the emergency room for a kidney stone.
The hospital bill was over $7,500.
When I complained, it was told to me that to provide these services they need to cover those that never pay.
So what is the outcome? In the last year my medical coverage has increased 40% for my family.
