I am only 23 years old and have accumulated 800 shs of BP with an average cost of $41.85/sh on my grandfathers suggestion and to reinvest the dividends. Best of luck.

      • Nice.... Look into maybe selling some calls here and there for more income too. I have had very good luck selling out of the money calls each month on BP. For example: the Nov 18 44.00 is about .34, sell the call plus collect the divi, the stock will fall on div ex date too so you have about 3% upside before you get called away and are not able to buy the stock back cheaper. 3% aint bad for a month, plus you have downside protection. I have never sold a one month call on BP and not been able to come out ahead, either by buying back cheaper or keeping the premium. My cost basis is now in the low 30's.

    • Al Gore says don't buy oil stocks. Now I want some!!

    • Good call. We did get to 43 today.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • no way there is a divi increase, as much as i'd like it too. They would be stupid to raise it during this kangaroo trial and give this corrupt judiciary an excuse to hammer them. Need this litigation ended and the liabilities apportioned first...
