    Tax the rich MORE...

I think in order to get us out of this mess, the Democratic Senators should soak the rich (those with total household income greater than $40,000) with MUCH HIGHER TAXES.

    • Well I think it's a great idea and with the computers we have today, it would be a doable tax system.

    • No, no, no...wrong approach. SOAK THE POOR. Give them an incentive to improve their condition!

      • wrong approach... tax only the farmers, tobacco products, taverns and liquor stores and use the tax to triple the military. In this way we can go to war even during peace time, and we can spend all our new found monies for private ownership of the prison system by corporations. This will weed out the weak and encourage investment.

      • I have a third alternative. Do away with all income and SS tax and hammer everybody equally at the cash register.

Everybody uses the infrastructure and everybody should have to pay.

If you can't afford to buy it then do without. I did it that way when I was coming up and I don't see any good reason why everybody shouldn't be responsible for their sorry asses.

The short, if you can't afford to live then you shouldn't be allowed to breed. If you can't afford to live here, then don't come here. And if you were born here, get an education and then get a job.

Oh and make pot legal so all the potheads won't have to worry about us paying for their public attorney.

        It really is that simple.

    • in case you hadn't noticed,40g's is about the poverty level these days....married couple working at mcdonalds get that much...i'm gonna presume you're being sarcastic and are baiting the crowd

      • I figured the poster had to be in a sarcastic mood as in San Jose, you qualify for subsidy programs if your household income is below $52k.

Let's see.... two people working full time.... there's 2080 hours in a fulltime year.... at ten bucks an hour... each..... why hell huevos all you need according to this yahoo is ten bucks an hour per person, married couple and you're considered rich.

"...i'm gonna presume you're being sarcastic and are baiting the crowd."

There's always another alternative choice, the posters a "Maroon".
