The SBCErs got a big paid holiday for Veteran's Day. This holiday was enacted to honor and reward the individuals that fought on foreign soil to protect the interests of the United States.
SBCErs are always first in line to be sure and get a paid holiday for this event.
To honor this day they go shopping, have a big bar-b-que or sleep off the hangover they got the night before.
Funny thing is, most SBCErs are not Veterans.
Typical SBCErs. First in line for a handout, but hide in the shadows to actually serve the country that made life so easy for them
It is for district 3 of IBEW local 21. That covers most of the center of Illinois. The NDCI in Springfield is closing and has a surplus of approx. 37 people. I was told that any openings in the C.O.s in that area would be offered to people from the center that don't (or can't) take the offer. Local 21 mentioned the surplus on their web page back in Sept.
The old Western Electric always had you off payroll by Dec. 7th. so that you would not have enough vacation to take you into the next year. I had to retire from AT&T the week before Thanksgiving so they would not have to pay me those two holidays.
